Variation and Correlativity Analysis of Fruit and seed Characters of Erica

Abstract：Erica, a kind of evergreen、covering and flowering plants, are belong to Ericaceae, and native to Mediterranean region. Our country has introduced, but at present it is rare in the domestic garden plant germplasm resources. The types of Erica are large, more than 600 species in totle. In my study, I choose 9 species as research materials, then, study on and analysize the variation of fruit and seed characters. Through coefficientofvariation and One-way analysis of variance，The research results indicate that fruit character of Erica has some variation in interspecific and intraspecific，and interspecific variation is larger than intraspecific variation, at the same time，the ariation of width of seeds is larger than the variation of length of seeds. The research, on the one hand, can identify the different Erica and seed quality according to fruit and seed characters of Erica, on the other hand, preliminarily understand of seed genetic diversity of Erica, and provide some basis for the introduction and using of Erica.

1 绪论

1.1 欧石楠植物概况

1.1.1 欧石楠植物的分布、分类及生物学特性

欧石楠（Erica）植物属杜鹃花科，全世界约750种，广泛分布于非洲、马达加斯加、大西洋诸岛和中东、澳洲。南非约605本土种类，主要分布在南非的开普植物王国（Cape Floral Kingdom），是组成fynbos(南非荷兰语言意思是“美丽的灌木”) 高山硬叶灌木群落独特的荒地植被的主要种类之一（另外两类是山龙眼花Proteaceae和多刺的帚灯草Restionaceae）^[1]。

欧石楠为灌木或亚灌木， 很少乔木，常绿，针叶小而尖硬，轮生或对生，边缘反卷，通常还有茸毛保护层；花钟状或管状，花色丰富，除蓝色外，各色俱全，但以粉红色和白色为主。适应性强，能在不同的环境中生长，从炎热的盐沼和沙丘，到山顶或山顶岩石裂缝^[1，2]。

欧石楠属植物种类多，本研究所涉及的种类有:Erica herbacea、E. cinerea、E. multiflora、E. tetralix、E. vagans、E. scoparica、E. ciliaris、E. arborea、Calluna vulgaris共9种。此外欧石楠属植物还包括E. melanthera、E. terminalis、E. curviflora、E. coccinea、E. carnea等。

但是，C. vulgaris（帚石楠）曾经被认为是欧石楠属植物，实际上帚石楠是帚石楠属，该属仅一种，是单种属植物；欧石楠属植物多达800 多种，通常将这一属的植物都统称为欧石楠，二者的区别是帚石楠的花冠较短藏于花萼之中，欧石楠的花冠较长^[3]。
